NovaLCT and V-Can: Why They're a Perfect Match?
A house without interior space is incomplete—it might have a solid foundation,
but lack a cozy atmosphere.
The same is true for NovaStar's NovaLCT and V-Can software.
They work together to control the all-in-one series and MCTRL controllers.
NovaLCT forms the foundation, while V-Can handles the interior space.
They complement each other perfectly. But why do I need two different programs to control my controller? To better understand these two solutions, we'll explain their core functions and how they work together below.
NOVALCT
NovaLCT software is one of NoaStar's oldest solutions, developed specifically for programming sending cards.
It forms the foundation for the overall operation of LED walls (if you need more information on programming LED walls with this software, you can find instructions and videos in this article).
NovaLCT allows for basic settings such as cabinet setup, brightness, color correction, and calibration. However, it is primarily designed for basic configuration. This means that all subsequent features, such as scaling or content control, are not possible. Therefore, adapting display content to the dimensions of the LED wall required a separate scaler in the past.
V-can
With the development of the first all-in-one controller integrating both a sending card and scaling functionality, the need to control the integrated scaler arose. This new functionality was no longer possible to integrate. Therefore, V-Can software was developed. It controls the LED wall and manages the video processor, ensuring content is transmitted to the LED wall. In short, it provides the controller with the necessary commands to dynamically adjust and display content. In addition to scaling, it manages signal sources, performs signal processing, and enables flexible adjustments to displayed content.
A Well-Trained Team
As you can see, NovaLCT and V-Can are interconnected.
NovaLCT software provides the technical foundation for building the LED wall, but without V-Can, its use is severely limited.
Only V-Can software can control, scale, and adjust image content to achieve motion effects.
We know that it can be difficult to navigate the various software solutions from NovaStar, but we hope this article has helped you gain a better understanding of the capabilities of both software.
